Kia Motors is moving its parts operations to a new state-of-the-art warehouse in Tamworth, Staffordshire that will support its entire UK dealer network. Having experienced consistent sales growth year on year, the car manufacturer will be transferring its parts inventory to a larger warehouse, managed by Mobis, in May.

The new 209,000 sq ft warehouse will provide the Korean manufacturer and its dealers with much needed space for the 240,000 product lines that require inventory management. The considerable size, as well as efficient organisation of the warehouse will allow up to  five months worth of stock holding, controlling everything from wheel nuts to wing mirrors.

The Mobis warehouse is located at the geographical centre of the UK and is accessible via its most-used motorways, providing Kia’s dealers with high quality next day delivery service levels from a dedicated customer service team.

“The Kia brand continues to grow and as a result, our logistical requirements need to adapt to meet these positive changes,” commented Hamish McCowan, After Sales and Logistics Director, Kia Motors UK. “Moving to the Mobis UK parts facility will provide our dealer network with greatly improved levels of inventory along with the latest in system and inventory management technology, meaning that our customers will always get the best levels of service that we can physically offer.”
