Skoda are looking to cheer the nation up on Margaret Thatcher’s birthday with the launch of their new eco friendly Superb GreenLine on Monday 13th October.
The Greenline is Skoda’s equivalent of the Ford’s Econetic and the Seat Ecomotive editions and offers great fuel economy and low emissions figures. Emitting just 135 g/km of CO2 the 1.9 TDI PD engine generates 105bhp and returns 55.4 mpg.
Škoda have used a number of techniques to reduce the cars carbon footprint. Including some standard methods like reducing the weight of the car and fitting low resistance tyres. They have also called on their engineers to come up with solutions. They have made the gearing longer and re-mapped the engine for greater efficiency. The whole package comes together with a car that’s cheaper to run and less costly on the environment.
The trim level is pitched between the entry level S and the mid-range SE. Equipment above the S model includes sunset glass, cruise control, four spoke leather steering wheel, lowered suspension, small rear boot spoiler and tyre repair kit.
Product Marketing Manager at Škoda, Chris Horrell, comments: “The latest addition to our GreenLine range will be well received by customers seeking a more environmentally conscious vehicle in the upper medium sector.
“With growing interest in greener cars we expect the Superb GreenLine to attract retail and business customers seeking a vehicle which represents great value for money but does not compromise on quality.”
