New Aston unveiled.

August 9, 2008

The hottest news of the week came from Aston Martin, who have announced that they are planning an exclusive new supercar.  The 77, as it’s currently being dubbed, will be the worlds most expensive production car costing over one million pounds.

There will be 77 of them made, and each will be made to order, so there are no great amount of details at this point.  Owners will be able to create their own bespoke interior, designed with the help of the Aston design staff.

New Aston unveiled.

They will be powered by a 7 (yes seven), litre engine.  They’re proposing that the supercar will reach 60 mph in less than four seconds and have a top speed of more than 200 mpg.  The fuel figures are expected to be pretty bad at around 15 mpg, although if you’re shelling out seven figures for the car it’s unlikely that you’re going to be that worried about the running costs.

The Aluminium body, covering the carbon fibre chassis helps keep the car lean, although not enough to notice on the fuel figures.

With purchase costs of more than a million pounds the Aston leaves Bugatti Veyron owners feeling like the poor relative

The car’s not been given a name yet but the owners are sure to be in seventh heaven!

Mechanics - When do car tyres need replacing?

It is an EU requirement that there are 6 to 8 tread wear bars on all vehicle tyres (except tractors).

Your tyres are one of the most important parts of your car, make sure they're right for the job.
