Great White Shark gets away with it

MULTI-millionaire golfer Greg Norman has talked his way out of a £60 fine for using his mobile phone while driving in the UK.

Norman, who has just spent £1 million on his wedding to tennis legend Chris Evert, saved himself some spare change by charming the female police officer who stopped him.

The Great White Shark was travelling to the British Open at Royal Birkdale when he was directed to pull his Range Rover to the side of the road.

Although caught - hook, line and sinker, he reportedly claimed ignorance of British laws banning the use of mobile phones while driving.

"Greg looked embarrassed as hell when the police pulled him over," witness Steve Grimshaw, 29, commented.

"I heard him telling the officer he didn't understand the law about speaking on a mobile and that he was on his way to the Open.

"His charm must have worked as the officer let him off with a warning."

Norman, 53, is in the UK for his first major championship in three years and has brought his bride, Evert with him.

The couple married in the Bahamas three weeks ago with high profile wedding guests including former US president Bill Clinton and Caddyshack star Chevy Chase.
