Would you run your car on chip fat oil?

With rising petrol costs would you consider running your diesel engine on chip fat oil??

older mechanical injection systems will run on cooking oil. a friend runs his vectra on 50/50 diesel and new cooking oil straight from the supermarket.
so far he has not had a problem.
PLEASE dont try it on the new generation citroen/peugeot hdi/vw pd/ford or anyother electronic injection diesel.the new high pressure pumps wont like it, and its an expensive hobby replacing them

Thanks for your feedback Bob. I am not quiet sure whether i am ready to take the big step. Has anyone else had any experience with this?
