Selling nearly 30 million cars, the car in front was very possibly a Toyota and the last Corolla was probably the best of them all.
Looks are not it's strong point but that is to overlook the point. The Toyota Corolla is a car, a mode of transport, rather than a picture or something to admire. It comes with a 'does what it says on the tin' approach in that it's built to be functional and cost effective rather than stylish. What Toyota give us with the Corolla is an ultra reliable car that is cheap to run and nice to drive, if not especially exciting. The cars are built to a high standard and offer good levels of equipment as standard, no hidden costs.
The ride is comfortable and the cabin roomy with ample room for 5 adults to travel without becoming claustropobic. The windows offer good levels of vision to driver and passengers alike. The road and engine noise are subdued well so that all you'll be listening to will be your companions or the decent stereo system.
There are three engines, two petrol or a diesel, so you're not exactly spoilt for choice, but they're all excellent and offer frugal motoring with decent performance. The diesel is a little rough round the edges but it's a gutsy motor that is rarely left wanting.
The Toyota Corolla offers good driving at a low price. It's got a small range of good engines on offer and it's good both around town, and offers hassle free motorway miles.
