They have long been the publics favourite car manufacturer, but it is in the last 12 years that Ford have seen their popularity among the motoring press really take hold.
The Ka make a great figurehead for these glory days. Still bearing the same design as it did at launch twelve years ago.
The engines are simple but effective. The standard 1.3 engine offers enough beef to get to 94 mph with the sport Ka offering an eyelash curling 108 mph, but you're not going to buy a Ka for it's straight line speed. It is respectable enough going away from the lights without spilling your freshly squeezed orange juice, but will leave those looking for some excitement wanting more.
The Ka's handling if profficient without being exceptional. It is accomplished and secure, taking fast corners with confidence that many other City cars wince. Parking is easy as with most City cars.
A reasonably comfortable ride for two adults and two children, although a little confined. Rear legroom levels are a squeeze for anyone over the age of 8.
The Ford Ka continues to sell in bundles in the UK, 2007 seeing it's largest number yet but with better City cars having come on the market in the last 10 years can it continue without major surgery?

I've had a Ka for about five years now, I call it my ladybug because it's red. If you're not an over-confident driver like myself, it really is a lovely car to drive. They are small and easy to park and they can be quite speedy aswell!
