The Most recent incarnation of the Ford Galaxy builds on the success of it's predecessors. It's been popular since it's launch in 1995 without ever being exceptional.
The 2006 edition takes a step up in quality and class but with the Renault Espace and it's own stable mate the S-max still ahead by a distance, the Galaxy never really reaches for the stars.
The interior is neutral to the point of being dull and looks both cheap and disposable. That said the inside space offers ample room for passengers and luggage with the seats folding down into an array of different layouts.
It has a 2.0 litre petrol option or 1.8 litre and 2.0 litre versions. Power ranges between 98 bhp and 143 bhp. The smaller diesel makes for mundane ride while the petrol option does offer some excitement. The fuel economy throughout the range is good and will suit a family budget.
The Ford Galaxy does what you'd expect of it and it does it willingly. What it doesn't do is do it with any flair. If you want glamour look to it's sportier cousin the S-max.
