The Renault Scenic is a big and versatile performer. It's been at the top of it's game for some years now and gets better with each model. Keenly priced it sells in droves and deserves to as it's a great motor. The standard model isn't as big as you may think, but on the inside offers lots of really usable space. The new styling is sharp and in keeping with the whole of the Renault range. It's a family transporter but has enough about it to do so with a touch of glamour.

As you step into the Scenic you feel that this will be a good place from which to view the world from. The cabin is a story of quality accommodation and comfortable space. There is lots of glass which adds to the airy feeling and sense of space. It's a five seater but offers great space for all of the passengers. The front seats have fold down tables so that passengers can have a game of cribbage while travelling.

Driving the Scenic is, as with the rest if the car, a satisfying experience. The engines range from extremely competent through to very surprising. The entry level 1.4 will reach 60 mph in 13.8 seconds, which while not about to win any races, is not bad as a starter. The 2.0 Turbo unit will give you time to spare from a nine second time limit (8.3), and the outstanding 1.9 DCI adds another second to it's time, while returning 48 mpg. There are lots of different engines and levels of trim to choose from, and there's probably something to suit anyone's palate. The handling is extremely good and the Scenic does nothing that will either surprise or offer cause for concern. The steering may be a little remote for purists but this is nitpicking. It's easy to drive and steer and will corner in a natural and focused manner. Bodyroll is kept in check very well and the Scenic is a good cruiser. It will object if you try to throw it around like a small family car but I'd imagine that your family in the back will make a noise first.

The Scenic is well thought out and nicely finished. It offers lots of room to take the family out and about and has options that are good to drive, while returning good fuel figures. It's widely regarded as one of the cars to beat in the MPV market and will take a really good car to take it's place
