The 807 comes in the same shape as the Citroen C8, Fain Ulysee and the Lancia Phedra (which isn’t sold in the UK), and as such offers virtual minibus dimensions for all of the family to enjoy.  There are three rows of seats, with the room for eight people.  All three rows recline and slide so to get the car full you’ll need to cooperate with the rest of it’s occupants.  It has one stand out engine in the 2.2 HDi, which offers both power and reasonable economy although the smaller engines make a case for themselves too.

Inside the 807 is a tale of room and visibility.  There’s glass galore and this brings with it a real sense of space and freedom.  The rear doors slide, in case you were worried about getting out in the car park.  The second and third rows of seats fold forward to make a table (ideal for a quick hand of poker, although probably not while driving!)  Most models are fitted with sun blinds on the rear windows.  The seats are comfortable although there is a slight premium on legroom.  You can get good levels throughout the cabin but it does require some work on the part of all passengers, and not too much in the boot.  For maximum load carrying the seats need to come out, which isn’t the easiest thing to do as they’re heavy and bulky.  With them out you feel ready to take to the road with your own mobile disco, that’s how much room there is.

The ride in the 807 is very comfortable.  The seats are individual, rather than bench and the result is good support and comfort for any journey. The second row of seats folds down into a table which gives room for four people to sit round, perfect for a take-away fish and chips.  The finish I the cabin is of good quality materials and in combination with the safety equipment give a sold and secure feel.  The engine and wind are well suppressed unless you’re really gunning the car, when the engine has a tendency to disrupt your listing to the top 40 on the radio.

The engine line up is shared with the Citroen C8 with units available in 2.0 and 2.2L sizes in both petrol and diesel flavours. The 2.0-litre petrol originally had 133bhp, but was replaced by a 143bhp version in 2005.  This was before both the less powerful 2.0-litre and the 2.2 were both shelved in 2006. The petrol units can struggle with 807's bulk, especially when fully laden, so the oil burners are the better option and by far the most popular. The 2.2 has punch and performance - if your budget can stretch to it - but the 2.0-litre does a reasonable job. All come with a dash mounted manual gearbox, but an automatic option is offered on the 2.0-litre models.

For those looking to transport a few people around on a regular basis the 807 is a decent option.  It comes with good engine options and decent refinement.  The C8 offers similar motoring and possibly equitable deals, keep an eye on the Ts and Cs and you’ll be able to get a bargain with either if not both of them.
