One of the newest car categories is the City car class. Loved by environmentalists and politicians alike they offer great fuel consumptioin figures and a relatively small carbon footprint.

The C1 is a joint project between Citroen, Peugeot and Toyota. it has produced 3 cars in the Citroen C1, Peugeot 107 and Toyota Aygo, that are essentially the same car, save for the lights and bumpers.
The cars have been engineered and built to Toyota standards, giving a good quality of both fit and finish.

Retailing at the cheapest of the 3 models the Citroen offers great value and the 3 cylinder 1 litre petrol engine offers a thrifty 68.9 mpg on it's way up to a top speed of 98 mph. The diesel comes second best on both counts with 61.4 mpg and a top speed of 96 mph.

The supermini offers a deceptive amount of room in the cabin and will offer a decent level of comfort for four adults to ride. Boot space is adequate too, which is impressive for such a small car.

The Citroen C1 offers lots of cheap environmentally friendly miles and with the new car tax schemes will be even cheaper to run in the future.
