As the Sword of Damocles hangs over the heads of GM workers and the world motor industry remains in the doldrums the Kia Soul train offers a welcome bit of colour to brighten up the landscape.
Kia's Soul Train has hit the road and started a three month tour of the UK. Comprising a convoy of eight Kia Souls the train aims to spread a bit of fun and turn heads in each town it visits en route.
Driving for five days a week and dropping into various local events the Soul train will look to entertain crowds with specially commissioned drivers-turned-singers who will emerge, entertaining crowds with renditions of Soul classics. It doesn't specify whether the audience will be restrained to prevent them leaving before the cars conclude the show with a display each Saturday at major shopping centres across the nation, but audiences will be serenaded by a professional soul choir. Who could resist this?
The cult Soul Burner will be accompanied by a homage to car movies with Kia Souls ‘dressed’ as Herbie, the legendary Gran Torino from Starsky & Hutch and the unforgettable General Lee from The Dukes of Hazard.
Simon Hetherington, Marketing Director Kia Motors (UK) Limited commented: “We are really excited to have the Train on tour. It represents what Soul is all about – quirky, fun and for the young at heart! Soul is the perfect response for those who want to lift their spirits and turn heads at the same time – its unique styling brings a smile to everyone who sees it and that can’t be a bad thing at the moment.”
